Delay tactics

Recently, Martin has started using some delay tactics.  His primary method is "I want to ask you a question" followed by it's close companions "I wanna tell you something" and "I want to sing a song for you."  These tactics are employed when we're about to do something that he doesn't want to happen - like when I go downstairs to work, leave the house, or it's time for bed.  Some examples:

"I want to ask you a question" Category
"Why do you work?"
"Do you like pooping in a toilet?"
"Can you take my head off?"
"Can you take my teeth out?"

"I wanna tell you something" Category
"I love you."
"I don't like you."
"You look like a potato."

"I want to sing a song for you" Category (all original compositions)
"The pig in the mud"
"Sophie-e-ya"
"Dump truck in my bed"

I'll admit, each one of these tactics is funny and I sort of look forward to whatever will follow.  Tonight, he used every one of the above statements while I was trying to get him to sleep.  We had to institute the "no talking" rule which could only be implemented by his covering his mouth with his hand.  I'm pretty sure that method will only work once, so I'm going to have to come up with some delay tactics of my own.  Lots of them.

I hope Martin thinks potatoes are the most beautiful of all the vegetables if that is what he thinks you look like!
