GOnelsons: UK edition, Vol. 2
Marty and I returned from London yesterday and already it feels like the trip is far in the past. Removed from the people-filled streets and new sights, back to kids and laundry and work and our normal life. It was such a treat to be able to spend time with Sevda and to get to know her husband-to-be a little better. If not for the swank location, two guys sitting next to us and diamonds on our fingers, spending time together felt just like it did ten years ago.
In the last two days of our trip, we did a lot of walking, eating, napping, wedding planning and a little sightseeing. We took loads of pictures, but have yet to download all of them from the camera. Even though we were only there for a few days, we were able to go to several parts of the city, experiencing each neighborhood mostly through food.
It was a lovely trip and London is a beautiful city. But mostly, I loved spending time with my good friend again. Not just for an evening or an afternoon, but for several days and through normal life, comfortable just like it's always been.

jennie,
i missed you straight away! Thank you both so much for coming. I refuse to move your Jigsaw bag from the living room because I like thinking that you are still here. We loved having you here.
