Thursday, I'm in love

We had a great day yesterday celebrating both Sophie's birthday and Valentine's Day.  We started the day out with rootbeer floats and let Sophie open her presents.

We also gave the kids a few things for Valentine's Day, which sort of added to the confusion about why Sophie had presents throughout the day and Martin did not.  After some coercion, I did get him to put on his new Valentine's Day shirt, which he then wore for 24 hours straight (making me think he's related to Sevda in some way) and named his "fireball" shirt:

Last night we continued Sophie's birthday celebration with a nice dinner and were joined by Marty Sr.  Of course, in the hustle of dinner preparation, I forgot to take any pictures.  After we were all in pajamas and watching a movie, I lounged on the couch with Martin laying on my side and Sophie snuggled in my arm.  I fell into a post-Valentine's Day coma, missing the last half of Tom and Jerry (thank god).  Luckily for us, Marty was there to wake me up and usher us all off to bed.

We have a lot of stuff to do over the next two days to get ready for Sophie's birthday party.  We need hats, balloons, groceries and time to prepare food.  And if anyone knows anything about baking, I could use some help.  Specifically if the two layers of red velvet cake I froze two weeks ago will be dust-bar dry if I thaw them out and frost them.  Comments regarding baking advice will be greatly appreciated.  So appreciated, in fact, that if it works I'll consider putting "Happy Birthday Sophie and Thank You So-and-So" right on the cake.

I love Sophie in her princess crown. What a cutie. I'm just surprised she's not in her Christmas nightgown. I guess so does have more then 1 set of PJs. Sounds like a great birthday. What a mom. Have fun at the party this weekend!

PS I have no idea what you were talking about with all that technical mumbo jumbo, so I hope this works.
