Just like back in the day
Saturday the kids and I met my friend Meghan and her daughter Trixie at a park that is conveniently located mid-way between us. Ten years ago mid-way between us was the shared wall between our apartments, and now we have to drive a good 40 miles to meet halfway. Our lives have changed greatly, but I was still just as glad as always to spend time together.
The kids had the massive playground to themselves for much of the time, following each other around and trying to lose us:

Trixie has grown so much since the last time I saw her. She's a happy girl, and so is her momma:

Martin spent much of his time running off to far distances and staging fake playground accidents:

Meghan wisely brought all kinds of playground gear - balls, bubbles and pails:

We packed lunches for our own kids, but Meghan's food was far more appealing than the loot I'd packed. Raisins in tiny boxes are like treasure chests.
