A very good place to start
We're making some changes here, and starting next week I'm cutting back on work, down to only two days a week. I've really been missing the kids, feeling like we're all missing out on stuff together. The realization that they're growing so quickly, that I want to spend this time before they're both in school together. I'm excited about the change and looking forward to planning special things to do together.
Today was Monster Day (an idea requested for the second time by Martin). We made rice krispie bars out of butter, krispies and ghost poop (aka marshmallows). We made mummy guts (sometimes known as "glurch") by combining two parts Elmer's glue and one part liquid starch (I had to look that up online so I'd know where to look for it in the store) that started out all stringy and stretchy and ended up somewhat like silly putty.

We wrapped Martin up in toilet paper like a mummy then watched him run around the house screaming like a banshee (or really, just like himself but I didn't tell him that he had to stop immediately).

We made a music mix with monster songs and boogied around the house. We ate grilled cheese cut into pumpkin shapes and pretended that our olives were eyeballs. We finished up the day with some vacuuming, which had nothing to do with monsters but had to be done anyway. Sophie was sleeping by 7:30 and Martin was so tired that he only asked about fifty questions about why spinach makes you strong. It was a great day and we had a lot of fun.
On the table this week: Tuscan sausage and bean soup, Savory bean spinach soup, Hot Beef Sandwiches au Jus, Hamburgers

I want to live at your house.
