Who did that?

Say what you will, but I believe in ghosts.  I played with Ouija boards as a young teenage girl, and I totally believe that we were receiving messages (don't tell me if you moved it, because I won't believe you anyway).  I love to watch scary movies but hate them because they make me want to avoid the basement and run past darkened windows.  I wouldn't say "Bloody Mary" into a mirror when I was a kid and I won't do it now either.  Just in case.

The logical adult side of my brain tells me that this is all just foolishness.  But there are some ideas that started in my childhood that are just hard to let go of, and the idea of the supernatural is one of them.  And that's why we may have to move out of our house.

Yesterday Martin had a friend over to play.  Wanting to show his friend one of his favorite things, he asked if they could watch tv.  I said, "Nope, no tv, go play."  And the tv turned on.  By itself.  We were all in the same room, no one was near the tv, no one was near the remote.  And the tv was on.  I turned the tv off.  Martin's friend's mom said, "Uh, that just turned on all by itself."  I answered, "Let's just pretend it didn't, or we'll have to spend the afternoon packing."

Last night I willed myself not to think about it.  I did tell Marty, and he said that maybe it was "The Big H's" idea of a joke (The Big H being his Grandma Harriette who used to live in this house).  If that's the case and Harriette is hanging about, I hope that she helps me this afternoon to interpret her recipe for Galumpkes that I'm going to try making for the first time.  Her notes about how to make them are pretty vague, so her assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Maybe I'll just leave all the ingredients out on the counter and hope I find them fully assembled and back in the fridge by morning.
