Overheard @ The Nelson's, v.12
Conversation One:
Martin: Daddy, please let me go hunting with you.
Marty: Sorry buddy, you're not quite old enough yet.
Martin: I could catch them for you and hold the deer's legs and then you can shoot him in the back.
Conversation Two:
Martin: Tell Daddy, that I love him and miss him and I love him for catching us deer for our lunch
Conversation Three:
Martin: Mom, I want to change my name. I want to be called Yankee Irvin.
Me: I understand, I wanted to change my name when I was your age too. To Nellie Oleson.
Martin: Yeah, but I want a GOOD name for my new one.

Why Nellie? Didn't everyone want to be Laura?

Liking Martin's team tag approach to hunting... I think he might be on to something!

He's a firecracker, that's for sure. Holding down the deer and then shooting him doesn't seem like fair play!
Catchy name choice. I had to google it to see where the heck he got it from!
I think you would have been a great Nellie. ACTUALLY, we could legitimately start calling you "Nellie" now (as a nickname for Nelson).
