Baby love
Already I can't get enough of my new nephew, now named Miles Patrick. It's everything I can do to not jump in the car and drive out to Mitchell to squeeze his cute cheeks and smooch on his head.
Here he is, just moments after delivery, posing for that first cry picture. The one that makes every momma say "ohhh" and tear up a little bit.
Look at his face, have you ever seen a cuter baby (the right answer here is "no")?
And those cheeks, they just beg to be touched and squeezed and smooshed.
Here he is resting nicely. He'll probably start sleeping through the night on their first night home, he has it all figured out already. He's smart and cooperative, you can tell.
And the proud poppa, looking comfortable and at ease already.

What a great addition to the Mitchell family! Congratulations Carrie and Ryan! I will always remember Ryan as a scrappy little boat boy from Ruttgers, it's hard to believe he's a dad. With the look in his eyes with that baby I know he'll be wonderful. So how soon before that little guy is water skiing?

You really need to come see him in person. We snuck up to the hospital last night and he is PERFECT! Brady sat on the bed and rubbed Carrie's knee because he has missed her at home.
Don't you suppose Martin & Sophie could help Marty out while you make the trip out here to see Miles?

Jennie - we wish you were here to see him in person. He is such a snuggler and would love to snuggle with his aunt!
I hope I don't become known as the mother who smushed her baby's cheeks two hours after birth - but I couldn't help it. You can't have such a pork chop of a baby without smooshing those cheeks!
And not to be a bragger already, but he actually did sleep through the night the first night home. So did his papa! We'll see what night #2 brings!
He's a lucky baby though to have so many people who love him already!
