The Miles Report
Having a new and super cute nephew is teaching me a lot about restraint. It's all I can do not to post pictures of him here every time a new batch arrives. All of my stories are second-hand, and I don't even care. He's adorable, and I just can't get enough of him.

Both mom and I feel like there is a little resemblance to my kids, but now that I've been looking for proof, I'm not so sure.

Sounds like Miles is doing great, still sleeping well, but sometimes for only thirty minutes at a stretch. Which, unfortunately, is sometimes what it's like. Carrie tells me that Ryan doesn't wake up with a crying baby right next to him, and I have to say I'm not surprised. My mom says that my dad never slept better than when we were kids. Plus, Ryan has always been a very heavy sleeper. When he was a kid and would fall asleep on the couch, dad and I would stand him up and watch him fall to the floor, still sleeping. Even our loud laughter didn't wake him up, and he wasn't hurt, so it was alright. Just in good fun. But my point is - it takes a lot to wake him up from a solid sleep. I remember one time he packed some sandwiches for next to his bed in case he got hungry - he slept for 22 hours that time, and when he finally got up all the sandwiches had been consumed in his sleep. It is always so hard with newborns! The first picture of Miles looked like he was all Carrie, the next ones I could totally see Ryan. Looking at the pictures of the 3 babies it doesn't appear like there are similarities but I think Miles and Martin might look more alike later.

Bumper didn't sleep as an infant, and now doesn't sleep as a toddler. She got that from her father. Me, I'm like Ryan (though I'm pretty sure I've never eaten in my sleep... mind you, that could explain that extra 10 lbs I put on...). Happy New Year to you and your family!
