A boy's best friend
I got an email from Carrie last week with more photos of Miles. I'm so thankful for digital photos and email and high speed internet and my laptop? Without all of that, I couldn't just sit here and wait for new photos of Miles to arrive.
Carrie tells me that Miles has started to smile a little bit. He's kind of sparing with his grins though, giving Carrie maybe one a day and Ryan only a few. He's been saving his big smiles for his new best friend - the ceiling fan. Apparently he really cares for the fan, spending hours gazing at it and giving it occasional loving smiles. And like a beautiful sunset, his smile is hard to capture in a photo.
Here he is, getting sort of ready to smile, or maybe he's just finished. It's hard to tell.

Here he is with his dog Molly trying to lick his smile and squish his cheeks. I can't blame Molly, who wouldn't want to touch those cheeks.

Here he is again, just giving some love to the ceiling fan.

Countdown to Miles: Five days until we get to meet him (if you could today and the fact that he'll arrive in Cold Spring late on Friday night, and I do because I'm the one doing the counting).

He's getting cuter and cuter by the day. What a funny entry about the ceiling fan. I laughed out loud here at work when I read this.

I think ceiling fans are the most wonderful inventions for babies. My daughter Reina was entertained for hours by the ceiling fan. I'm so excited for you to finally see him. How fun. Give Ryan and Carrie my best.
