Six below, part one
It's been awfully cold here lately. So cold, that we had to wait until mid-afternoon for it to warm up enough to go outside - when it reached a balmy -6F. It took us about twenty minutes to get dressed - long underwear, snow pants, shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, face masks, scarves, hats, mittens. Then we went out, managing to stay outside for a full half hour.
Grandpa Pat and Ryan built a little jump on the side of the hill for sledding. Martin was the first one to test it out, going down face first on his sled. He went down the hill, hit the jump, took a nosedive right into the snow. First injury = bloody nose and scraped up face.

Sophie was next down the run, first with me as her copilot, then later on her own.

Ryan and Martin went down together to try the second run, a curving path down the hill and into the neighbor's yard. Second injury = Ryan's thumb from sled steering.

I wish it had been warmer, everyone was having lots of fun. But really, -6F is just dang cold, no matter how bundled up you are.
