One morning last week Martin and I woke up early and spent the morning together in the kitchen.  It was really quiet and since it was just the two of us, it was the perfect time to work on something together.  I pulled out Martin's Valentines and showed him where to sign his name. 


It took a whole lot longer than I thought, and by the time he'd lost interest, we were only a third of the way through his stack.  But watching him write his name on his first set of Valentines made me a bit sentimental.  He seemed so grown up, so funny, and so smart.
