Roadtrip, Part 2
Last Thursday the kids and I took a little roadtrip. This one was much shorter than our trip to Bismarck, this time heading only up North. Sophie, filled with experience from our trip last week filled Martin in on all of the details. The first stop, she told him, was at the gas station where we would get CANDY. The second stop is at the coffee shop, so momma could get NIRVANA. Unlike our last trip, the next stop was at home so that we could clean up the first spill of the trip. After all the in town stops and an HOUR LATER, we were finally on the road.
Ten minutes later, boredom set in.

I passed the camera to the backseat. Martin took this shot of Sophie eating the Laffy Taffy she now equates with roadtrips.

Then he took this shot of himself.

He also took a few pictures of his feet. And about a hundred shots of the clouds outside his window.
Then we had nothing to do. And since the kids are too small to play car games that require reading, we made up a new game called DEBATE. Martin would select a topic, then decide if he was FOR or AGAINST it. We would take turns giving our side of the issue then declare "time up." After we'd each made our arguments, we would ask if we had convinced the other person to switch sides. This was a great game and I learned a lot about Martin. For example - he is FOR Skittles, shorts, and windows - but is AGAINST clouds and toes. I couldn't convince him of anything, but he made me change my mind a few times. In case you're wondering, I was previously AGAINST Skittles, but after he declared them "Delicious, time's up" I had no choice but to see his point of view.

You are so original! I just plug in movies for the 10 hour drive to Savannah. I don't know if that or the Nintendo DS is the bigger blessing. We're lame-o.
