Dude, it's December: Day 18

Two years ago we held the Mitchell Family Quarterly Meeting at the Texas Headquarters, located in Marble Falls.  I love getting together anywhere, but this is one of my favorite places to be, especially around the holidays.

We like to head to Johnson City where you can take a ride in a horse drawn carriage to see the lights.

The courthouse is a sight to see - it's hard to capture just how awesome it looks all lit up.

The carriage goes right past the Pedernales Electric company where they go all out, putting their own electricity to good use.  While we drive by it, we like to try to pronounce Pedernales like we're locals.

In Blanco, Santa comes through town in a big parade.  Not that you can tell from this picture.  You'll just have to take my word for it.  In this picture, you can see two other jolly fellows along with a girl in her first pair of cowboy boots.

Marble Falls lights up a park right on the river (which is called a lake, but I'm not sure which it really is).  There's nothing quite like seeing a whole pathway lit up with Christmas stuff when you're walking behind two of your favorite guys holding the tiny hands of your own little ones.

And although it has nothing to do with the holidays, I never like to pass up a chance to eat at the Salt Lick in Dripping Springs.  It just so happens that we were there around the holidays.

Did you know that you can buy cowboy hats from the back of a truck parked in parking lots in Texas?  Yes ma'am, you sure can.

Merry Christmas Y'all, December 2006

This is my FAVORITE family picture, it should be blown up for each house. We could add Miles in Photoshop first, it would really confuse the kids why Sophie and Miles look the same age in the picture!

Great pictures and great memories. I am sure Sophie is reacting to having her jacket zipped up...some things haven't changed! Hope y'all can get back there again soon!

This all looks like so much fun! Pedernales Electric is truly a sight to behold. WOW. I'm putting it on my list of things I must see in my lifetime.
