Ladies luncheon, or Anything other than chicken nuggets
Yesterday Sophie and I had our friends Sage and Nicole over for lunch and an afternoon of running around (the little girls) and chatting it up (the adult girls). It was great fun to get together, and having another adult here was a good excuse to make something other than kid food. Sophie planned her menu - chicken nuggets, plain buttered noodles, strawberries. I planned mine - pasta with roasted red pepper cream sauce, sweet potato salad with apple and avocado.

A baking sheet makes a fine backdrop as long as it brings to mind words like "well-used and rustic" instead of "must buy steel wool".
The red pepper sauce was delicious and I'll make it again, but I probably won't bother trying to make a non-dairy version. I don't think Sophie would like it, we're not sure if she's allergic to pine nuts, and she's perfectly happy with plain buttered noodles. Which, obviously, go nicely with chicken nuggets. And who wants to mess with a perfect combination.

We have the same baking sheet! (steel wool is highly overrrated) - I must try this out, sounds yummy. And when I asked Gigi if she wanted to try it out, she said she wanted the butter noodles instead (you're right, why mess with success)
